Jessica Garfias is a first-time Hoosier Lottery player and a first-time winner! As she was waiting in line at her local Speedway, the Extreme Cash Scratch-off caught Jessica’s attention and she decided to try it out – her first lottery ticket.
Jessica waited until later to scratch her ticket, and when she did, she thought she had won $5,000. After taking her ticket to the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment Center in Mishawaka, Ind., she realized that she had won $50,000. She could not believe it!
Jessica is a first-generation college student studying to be a medical assistant. She plans to use her prize money to help pay for tuition.
