A Portage man plans to pay down his home mortgage and share with his family after winning $50,000 on Powerball®.
Edward “Step” Stepnowski has been playing Hoosier Lottery games since 1989.
He bought a series of Quick Picks for the April 4, 2018 Powerball drawing, went to work and said he forgot about it. After the drawing, he checked his ticket. First, he saw what the Powerball number was and checked to see if he matched. Initially, he thought he’d won $12.
Step used the free Hoosier Lottery mobile app to scan the ticket and the app told him he won $50,000.
The steel mill worker enjoys karaoke in his free time. He was excited to share his prize with his family.
The winning ticket was purchased at Town & Country Market in Portage.
Powerball Overall Odds 1 in 25.
