A Brazil, Indiana man was thrilled to learn he won a $500,000 top prize on a $10 $500,000 Jackpot Scratch-off from the Hoosier Lottery.
Derick Williams bought the Scratch-off at Casey’s, 930 W. National Ave., Brazil. He scratched in the store and said he was speechless and in disbelief.
“I kept looking back and forth between the winning numbers and my numbers on the ticket to make sure it actually matched,” Derick said while claiming his prize at Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis.
The first person Derick told about the win was his girlfriend, who almost cried.
Derick works for AT&T climbing cell phone towers. He plans to use his prize money to move closer to his job and buy a car so he doesn’t have to share one with his girlfriend.
Two top prizes of $500,000 remain on $10 $500,000 Jackpot as of March 27, 2019.
