Crawfordsville resident Austin Lee likes to play Scratch-offs. He typically buys a few Scratch-offs whenever he’s out running errands or stops to get gas.
While he and his girlfriend were shopping for Christmas gifts at Walmart, Austin bought a Scratch-off and won $50. Later when they stopped to get gas, he cashed in that ticket and bought a $20 Loaded $10,000 Scratch-off.
Once back in his truck, he scratched the ticket, which showed that he won the game’s top prize of $10,000. Not believing his eyes, Austin had his girlfriend scan the ticket using the Hoosier Lottery app, and it also showed that he won $10,000.
“I can’t believe it!” she exclaimed. “My phone must be broken! Here, you scan it.”
Austin then used his phone to scan the ticket, and they were both very happy and excited when it also said he won the top prize.
A fire and security alarm technician, Austin plans to use his winnings to pay a few bills and then put the rest in savings.
