Inspired by the record-setting Mega Millions® $1.2 billion jackpot, Nolan Todd decided to buy two quick pick tickets. The 19-year-old checked the winning numbers before he went to work in the morning and realized that he had matched several of the numbers drawn. After asking around at work, he thought that he had won around $20. After work, Nolan stopped by a gas station to cash in his ticket. The clerk scanned the ticket and handed it back to Nolan, “this is too much to cash here” the clerk said. Confused, Nolan called his dad, who recommended downloading the Hoosier Lottery app to scan his ticket. Nolan quickly called his dad back to tell him he had won $10,000! “My dad was a little jealous, because I haven’t played very much,” said Nolan.
Nolan is from the Crown Point area and made the trip to Indianapolis to claim his prize and visit his stepbrother who lives there. The pair celebrated the win with a seafood dinner. Nolan plans to put the prize money towards a down payment for a house.
