Three More of the 20 Million-Dollar-Plus Powerball Tickets Claimed

05/04/20265 minutes

The stories and faces behind Indiana’s historic April 29th Powerball drawing continue to amaze as three more Hoosier Lottery players have claimed their million-dollar-plus prizes.

Last Wednesday night, the $143.4 million Powerball® jackpot was won in Indiana and Kansas. In addition to the jackpot-winning ticket, 14 tickets worth $1 million and five tickets worth $2 million were sold across the state, marking one of the most memorable Powerball drawings in Hoosier Lottery history.

The jackpot-winning ticket in Indiana was sold at Al’s Supermarket, located at 702 E. Lincolnway in La Porte. The prize amount for each jackpot winning ticket is $71.7 million.

During the Powerball jackpot run in Indiana, the Hoosier Lottery sold 80,740 winning tickets resulting in $96,609,036 in statewide winnings.

Late last week three more million-dollar winners claimed their prizes.

Retiree still plans to keep working after $1 million win

Herbert Myers of Eaton is retired after three-plus decades of working at General Motors, but that doesn’t mean he quit working. These days, he works at a convenience store because he likes to be busy and he loves interacting with the customers.

Myers also likes to play Powerball often buying his tickets at Eaton Pantry. Just before work the day after the drawing, he looked up the winning numbers and saw he had not matched the Powerball. Thinking the ticket probably wasn’t a winner, he stuck it back in his pocket and began his shift. Soon after a customer asked him if he heard the Eaton Pantry sold a big winner, Myers took another look at his ticket and was shocked to see he matched all five white balls to win $1 million.

Myers plans to pay off his debt, restore the original woodwork in his home and donate some of his winnings to AMVETS, an organization he joined way back in 1988.

When asked whether he would finally retire for good now, Myers laughed.

“Heck, no,” he said. “But I might cut my hours back a bit.”

Wife’s pick leads to $1 million win

Anderson resident Danny Robinson Jr. and his wife like to play Powerball together and always purchase their tickets at Chief’s Discount Tobacco in Anderson. While they were each filling out a couple playslips for the April 29 drawing, Robinson noticed his wife had chosen her numbers by simply going straight down the line, starting with the number 3.

“Is that how you’re going to do it??” he asked incredulously.

“Yes,” she replied with a shrug.

The day after the drawing, Robinson scanned their tickets on the Hoosier Lottery app. When he scanned his wife’s ticket, he was surprised to see a message stating the prize was too large to redeem at a retailer. Thinking it had to be a couple thousand dollars, Robinson excitedly called the Hoosier Lottery’s Prize Payment Office. He was floored to learn they won $1 million!

The couple plans to use their winnings to move their immediate family back to the Southeastern United States where Robinson grew up and still has a lot of extended family.

Club members win $1 million playing Powerball together

A group of seven friends who are all in the same fraternal organization began playing Powerball together several months ago. One member of the group purchases their tickets each week at the same Circle K in Kendallville.

The day after the April 29 drawing, that member checked the winning numbers and saw the group had won $1 million. Anxious to share this exciting news, he jumped in his car and headed straight over to another member’s house. Word quickly spread among the group, although no one could fathom they had actually won.

Upon claiming their winnings, the group said the reality began to sink in and plans started being made for how to spend their prize money.

Two members of the group just got married and will use some of their winnings to take a honeymoon. New cars and home remodeling projects were also mentioned as ways others will use their prize money, and one group member plans to mark an item off his bucket list—a trip to fish the Columbia River.

Jackpot-winning ticket updates

The jackpot ticket holder and 19 other million-dollar-plus winners should ensure their ticket is in a secure place and consider seeking appropriate legal and financial advice. They may contact Hoosier Lottery customer service at 1-800-955-6886 for specific claim instructions. Tickets from the April 29 drawing must be claimed by October 26th.

The winning Powerball numbers for Wednesday, April 29, 2026, are: 3-19-35-51-67 with the Powerball of 15 and a Power Play of 2X. Players may check their tickets with the free Hoosier Lottery Mobile App.

Since its first drawing in 1992, Powerball has inspired the country with a chance to become a millionaire, while raising $38 billion for good causes supported by lotteries. Indiana had the very first Powerball jackpot winner in 1992 and leads the nation in Powerball jackpot wins with 40.

The Powerball jackpot for Monday, May 4, is an estimated $20 million.

Powerball Overall Odds are 1 in 25.
