Ticket worth $44 million purchased in Speedway; Hoosier Lottery players should check their tickets

A town known for excitement every May is now experiencing excitement in December as a ticket for the second-largest Hoosier Lotto® jackpot in game history was sold in Speedway for Wednesday's drawing.

Before the $44 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot was won last night, Indiana's hometown favorite jackpot game ranked as the highest state lottery jackpot and third-largest U.S. jackpot, behind only Powerball® and Mega Millions®.

The $44 million winning ticket was purchased at Lucky's Mart located at 5208 W. 10th St. in Speedway.

The winning Hoosier Lotto numbers for Wednesday, Dec. 6 are: 9-16-22-26-30-37. Players can check their tickets with the free Hoosier Lottery Mobile App.

"Congratulations to our newest Hoosier Lotto jackpot millionaire," said Hoosier Lottery Executive Director Sarah M. Taylor. "Since its first drawing in 1990, Hoosier Lotto has remained a popular game among our players. It is great to see it was won in the same town known for producing exciting racing wins for the last century."

Wednesday's jackpot was only the fourth time in Hoosier Lotto history that the jackpot has topped $40 million. The largest Hoosier Lotto jackpot win occurred on Nov. 7, 2007, and was worth an estimated $54.5 million. The last Hoosier Lotto jackpot win occurred on Sept. 7, 2022, and was worth an estimated $19.5 million.

By selling the winning Hoosier Lotto jackpot ticket, the retailer will receive $100,000.

Players can purchase a $2 Hoosier Lotto ticket at any participating retailer. Players also can add +PLUS for $1 for a chance to win $1 million or other prizes in a second drawing that occurs immediately after the Hoosier Lotto drawing.

The Hoosier Lotto jackpot for Saturday, Dec. 9, is an estimated $1 million. Players have until 10:39 p.m., ET, to get their tickets for the 11 p.m., ET, drawing.
