National Lottery Day and the start of National Lottery Week is July 17. This week the Hoosier Lottery will celebrate winners and retailers, emphasize responsible gaming, and honor Hoosier Heroes through social media utilizing #LotteryWeek. Since the first Scratch-off was sold on October 13, 1989, thanks to the support of players and retailers, the Hoosier Lottery has provided more than $6.7 billion to the State of Indiana.
"For over 30 years, the Hoosier Lottery has fulfilled its mission of maximizing revenue to the State of Indiana in a socially responsible manner. The Lottery has provided more than $6.7 billion to the State through fun and entertaining experiences always focused on responsible gaming," said Sarah M. Taylor, executive director of the Hoosier Lottery. "During Hoosier Lottery Week we will celebrate our players and thank our retailers, while highlighting the importance of responsible gaming."
In December, the Hoosier Lottery again received World Lottery Association Level 4 Certification through 2024 for achieving the highest level of responsible gaming. The Hoosier Lottery promotes positive play messaging year-round with numerous tools and resources to help players know their game, set limits, and keep lottery play fun.
