Fort Wayne residents Joseph and Alexandria Spicer had no idea a routine stop for gas would lead to a $100,000 Scratch-off win.

Joseph had just picked up Alexandria from work when they stopped at a Lassus Handy Dandy. Joseph began pumping gas while Alexandria headed inside to buy something to drink. As she walked away, Joseph asked her to purchase two of the new $30 Multiplier Mania Scratch-offs, but Alexandria didn’t hear him. Instead, she purchased one $50 Power 50X. Her error ended up netting the couple $100,000!

Once they were back in their car, Joseph began scratching the ticket. 

“I saw $250 and figured we won $2,000,” he recalled. “Then I scratched the multiplier, and that changed everything.”

Realizing they won the $100,000 top prize, the couple was speechless. 

“I still can’t believe it,” said Alexandria.

The couple plans to use some of their winnings to take their family on a vacation to Disney World and will put the rest in savings.
