Yorktown resident Matthew Tallent likes to play Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs to add some fun to his day. As a union carpenter, Matthew’s work location changes frequently so he purchases Scratch-offs from whichever retailer is near his current work site.

After redeeming a $10 Scratch-off prize, Matthew purchased a $10 Stacks of Cash. He scratched it and “I saw ‘win’, ‘win’, ‘win’ and knew I won something,” he said. When Matthew scratched the prize amount, he saw he won $10,000!

“I about had a heart attack,” he laughed.

Matthew quickly shared his good news with family and friends. Except for his wife. Matthew simply told her he would be making a deposit into their checking account. He can’t wait to see her face when she finds out how big the deposit was.

Matthew plans to use his winnings to go to the State Fair and finish a home remodeling project he’s currently working on.
