Sean Harding is a regular CA$H 5 player and purchases his tickets at the same BP station in his hometown of Shelbyville. He doesn’t play the same numbers for every drawing, though, preferring to mix it up and choose different numbers each time.

Sean was at work at Thunderbird Molding one night and paused to check his numbers. He had purchased a few tickets for that day’s drawing and had played a few different sets of numbers, including his and his twin sister’s birthday. When he saw their birthday numbers were that drawing’s winning numbers, Sean couldn’t remember for sure whether he had played them. He ran out to his truck to check his tickets, thinking over and over again, “I hope I played those numbers! hope I played those numbers!”

Sean had in fact played those very numbers and won the CA$H 5 jackpot worth $826,914! He was stunned.

The next day, once the reality of his win had sunk in, Sean called his twin sister and joked, “I’m having some financial issues.”

Immediately switching into protective sister mode, she replied, “Okay, we can handle it. What’s going on?”

“Well,” Sean said, “I won the lottery.”

“Hold the phone! What?!” his sister exclaimed. She was immediately thrilled for her brother.

Sean plans to pay a few bills with his winnings and will put the rest in savings.
