Kenyon picked up a new $20 Red Hot Millions Scratch-off and began to scratch the ticket. After partially scratching the ticket and not having won, he scanned the barcode to speed up the process. To his surprise, the Hoosier Lottery app alerted him that he had won $10,000!

Kenyon’s wife was still in bed when he announced they would be making a trip to the Hoosier Lottery Headquarters in Indianapolis to claim the prize. “Sometimes he jokes about winning, so I didn’t believe him at first,” his wife said. The couple is expecting their first child this year and plan to put the prize money towards paying bills and a down payment on a house.
