Now that Thomas Wheeler is retired, he spends a lot of his time working on projects around the house and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. He also likes to play Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs for a little fun.

On his birthday, Thomas decided to treat himself and purchased a $5 Money Bags. He scratched it once he was home and was stunned to see he won the $10,000 top prize.

“I saw a 10 and then a comma, and couldn’t believe it,” Thomas said.

He called his wife over to examine the ticket and confirm he truly had won. “You’re kidding me!” she exclaimed when she saw the ticket.

Thomas plans to put his winnings in savings.
