A Huntington man recently claimed a $100,000 Top Prize after playing the Hoosier Lottery’s $50 Power 50X Scratch-off. 

The retired truck driver was visiting family and friends in Greenwood when he decided to stop at a local Kroger and purchase a Scratch-off ticket. He said he doesn’t play very often and wasn’t expecting to win. 

“I really didn’t expect to win anything,” he said. “It was my first ticket I’ve bought in a long time.” 

Later that day, he scratched the ticket with his brother by his side. When they realized he had won $100,000, both were thrilled about the unexpected prize. 

The winner plans to use his prize money to pay bills, take his brother out to dinner and purchase a new pickup truck. He also joked that his wife will be happy about the win, noting she’ll likely have plans for some of the money as well.
