Zhen Wu keeps pretty busy working at a Korean barbecue restaurant. For entertainment, he likes to play Powerball®. He usually purchases tickets at the same Rebel convenience store in his hometown of Highland.

Zhen stopped at Rebel to get coffee one morning and purchased a Powerball ticket, choosing his numbers based on some family members’ birthdates.

The morning after the drawing, he opened the Hoosier Lottery app to check his numbers and was surprised to see he matched four numbers and the Powerball to win $50,000! He excitedly told his wife he just won, and she was thrilled as well.

“I missed the jackpot by one number,” he said. Still, he said, “I’m very happy to have won.”

Zhen plans to use some of his winnings to pay off his car and will save the rest.
