La Shawndra Lashley moved away from Fort Wayne when she was eight, but when her dad became ill in 2020, she returned to help care for him. After her father passed, La Shawndra stayed in Fort Wayne and now lives in her father’s home, which has been in the family for decades.

La Shawndra began playing Scratch-offs when she settled into living in Fort Wayne as something fun to do in a new city. She enjoys playing new games each month.

After a trip to Las Vegas, La Shawndra wanted to keep the fun going so she bought a few Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs. She scratched her tickets at home while on the phone with a friend.

“I think I just hit $500,000!” she told her friend after scratching a $20 20X the Money.

La Shawndra plans to make several updates to her house with the prize money. She also plans to use her winnings to help her mother and close family and friends.
