Player from northern Indiana wins $50,000 top prize on her $3 Holly Jolly Bingo Scratch-off

For Hoosier Michelle Terwilliger, though she may not regularly play the Hoosier Lottery games, she enjoys gifting Scratch-offs for the holidays. As a part of her holiday tradition, she enjoys including a Scratch-off in each Christmas card she sends to the friends and family on her list. She also adds them to her adult family members’ stockings as a fun and engaging stocking stuffer.

Michelle bought her Scratch-off tickets at her local Payless grocery store in Lafayette, IN. Unsure which tickets to buy, she referred to the Holiday promotional mat at the retailer to help her choose which Holiday Scratch-off tickets to include. As she was signing and putting Scratch-offs in each card, Michelle realized that the Holly Jolly Bingo tickets were just a little too long to fit into the envelopes. Over the course of a week she scratched the few Holly Jolly Bingo tickets she did not mail out, and she won a top prize of $50,000 on one of her tickets. She downloaded the Hoosier Lottery app and confirmed that she had won the top prize.

Not being an avid Hoosier Lottery player, Michelle was mainly in disbelief that she nearly gave away a $50,000 winning ticket to a friend or family winner. With the prize, Michelle plans to pay some bills and put the rest of it back to help pay tuition payments for her two children in college. Congratulations Michelle!
