Indianapolis resident Annette loves to play Hoosier Lottery Draw games for the fun and excitement they bring to her day. She has a deal with her niece that if Annette ever wins a large prize, she will immediately call her niece to share the news.

“BUT,” Annette said, “I told her I would have to whisper the news because I don’t want my neighbors to hear.”

The morning after a Mega Millions® drawing, Annette checked the winning numbers and was shocked to see she matched four numbers and the Mega Ball. Thrilled to have won what she thought was a $10,000 prize, Annette was eager to share her news with her niece.

“I know we said I would call her and tell her the news, but it was six in the morning,” Annette said. “I figured since it was so early, I would just text her so I didn’t wake her up.”

Soon after sending the text, Annette’s niece called her. “You won?” she asked. “You were supposed to call me! We went over this!” her niece laughed.

Annette then called her brothers to tell them about her win. While she was on the phone with her younger brother, her oldest brother called her to tell her he was pretty sure she won $20,000 instead of $10,000. Annette looked up the prize amounts and was shocked to see she had in fact won $20,000!

Annette has been planning to buy a house in the near future and is thrilled to be able to add her winnings to her down payment.
