After a long career keeping the trains running on time for the Chicago Transit Authority, Larry Price is now enjoying the slower pace of retirement here in the Hoosier state.

A long-time Powerball® player, Larry typically stops by the gas station near his house to purchase his weekly tickets. Shortly after the drawing one night, he was scrolling on his phone and saw the winning Powerball numbers.

“I think those are the numbers I played,” Larry thought. It was after midnight, though, so Larry decided to wait until morning to check his numbers. While eating breakfast that next morning, Larry checked his tickets and was elated to see he had in fact matched four of the five white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000!

Wanting to make sure he really had a winning ticket, Larry scanned it using the Hoosier Lottery’s app. With confirmation of his win, Larry headed to the Lottery’s Prize Payment office in downtown Indianapolis to claim his winnings.

Larry plans to use his prize money to pay a couple of bills and take a trip back to Illinois for his cousin’s 100th birthday celebration.
