Ronald Ratcliff has been playing Powerball® since it became available in Indiana in 1992. He commutes from Hammond to Michigan City each day for work and typically stops at Hudson Gas to get gas or something to drink and to purchase his Powerball tickets.

He stopped at Hudson Gas to grab something to drink one morning and asked the clerk to scan his Powerball tickets. When the clerk told Ronald one of his tickets was a winner but that the retailer couldn’t pay it, Ronald was stunned.

He didn’t know how much he won, so Ronald did a little research and found out he won $50,000. “I was numb,” he said. “I still am!”

Ronald plans to use his prize money to pay a few bills and will save the rest.
