A Lafayette woman recently claimed a $1 million top prize after playing the Hoosier Lottery’s $10 Chrome Scratch-off. 

As a DoorDash driver, she spends much of her time on the road. While driving through Lafayette with her boyfriend, the pair decided to stop at Daily Express on Main Street, where she purchased the $10 Chrome Scratch-off, a game she has played before. 

After leaving the store, she began scratching the ticket and realized she won the $1 million top prize! She then scanned it using the Hoosier Lottery app, which instructed her to visit the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment office. 

Still in disbelief, she continued scanning the ticket multiple times on the app to make sure the result was correct. 

“It felt unreal, and I thought it was a fake ticket,” she said. The couple later stopped at another retailer to double-check the ticket. 

Having never won anything close to this amount before, she was shocked by the $1 million prize. She has shared the news with a few family members as it continues to sink in. 

The winner plans to use her prize money to purchase a new car and buy some new furniture and will save the rest.
