John Braun of Monroe, Indiana had a good feeling when he scratched his $5 Black Pearl ticket and revealed seven 5s on his Draw game. Five is his lucky number.
John debated whether to enter the Draw game that night or wait for another drawing. He decided to enter the Oct. 30 drawing and was thrilled when the number 5 was drawn. He won $5,000 by matching 7 of 8 numbers, including the Black Pearl number.
“This is such a blessing. It comes at the perfect time,” John said while claiming his prize at Hoosier Lottery® headquarters in Indianapolis.
The Black Pearl Now & Later game is one that John really enjoys. Everything from the marketing of the game to the gameplay interests him.
“I love it,” he said. “I think it’s great.”
John’s plans for the money include buying tickets to a Notre Dame football game.
The winning ticket was purchased at Kroger, 929 S. 13th St. in Decatur.
