Winner Stories
Bradley Ficus lives in the tiny town of Jasonville, about 30 miles south of Terre Haute. He likes to play Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs and usually purchases them when he stops to get gas for either his personal vehicle or his Indiana Department of Transportation truck.
Bradley was on his way home from work one day when the low fuel light in his personal vehicle came on. He stopped for gas at a Country Mart in Jasonville and also bought two $10 Platinum Payout tickets.
When he got home, Bradley let his girlfriend choose one of the tickets to scratch. While they were scratching the tickets, Bradley suddenly exclaimed, “No way! This can’t be real!”
Knowing he likes to joke about winning a large prize, Bradley’s girlfriend figured this was just another one of Bradley’s jokes. When he showed her his ticket, though, she was shocked to see Bradley had just won the game’s top prize of $250,000!
Still not believing what he was seeing, Bradley scanned the ticket using the Hoosier Lottery app. When it confirmed his win, “I actually cried,” he said.
A few days later, Bradley stopped at the same Country Mart where he purchased the winning ticket and told the clerk about his win.
“You won that from here?” asked the clerk. “That’s awesome!”
Bradley plans to use his winnings for a down payment on a house, to buy a camper and to invest.
