An 18-year-old from Martinsville plans to buy a car after winning a top prize of $120,000 on a $5 Winner Green Scratch-off.
Eli Tumey won $10 on a $5 Winner Green Scratch-off and used his winnings to buy two more tickets, and one of them was the big winner.
Eli, who works in construction, had just purchased a $500 car two weeks before winning the $120,000 prize. He plans to give that car to a family member and purchase a new car for himself.
The winning ticket was purchased at Circle S Food Mart, 1810 E. Morgan St. in Martinsville.
Eli’s grandfather came along when he claimed the prize at Hoosier Lottery headquarters in Indianapolis. He said he was shocked when Eli told him he won.
“I was kind of dumbstruck,” his grandfather said. “I didn’t know what to think. I was just glad for him.”
