Steven Hutcherson-Merritt of Indianapolis has a busy job working for Indiana’s Family and Social Services Administration. To bring a little fun to his day, he likes to play Daily 4. Steven usually purchases his tickets at the same Shell gas station near his home and has been playing the same numbers for five years.

When Steven got a text from a friend who plays those same numbers telling him to check his numbers, Steven figured he must have won something. He grabbed his Daily 4 tickets and scanned them on the Hoosier Lottery’s app. He was overcome with excitement when he saw that he won $14,500!

Steven immediately called his husband to share the good news, but he was in a meeting so Steven had to wait until that evening to tell him. When he finally learned about the win, his husband was thrilled.

The couple is in the process of moving and plans to put some of their winnings toward their moving expenses.
