Laura S. of Clermont was cleaning her car on her day off from Hendrick’s Regional Health when she came upon her Powerball® ticket from the previous drawing. She scanned the ticket and received a message that she would need to call the Hoosier Lottery to claim her prize. 

Laura had never won more than a few dollars playing the lottery, so this was new. She quickly looked up the numbers and saw she had matched four white balls and the Powerball. Not sure how much she won, she texted the family group chat. Her daughter replied that she might have won $50,000. 

“Have you talked to Dad?” they wanted to know. 

Dad was in a meeting at work when frantic calls to his cell phone began to come through. Growing concerned, he stepped out of the meeting to find out what was going on. 

“We won the lottery!” Laura exclaimed. 

As soon as he could, Laura’s husband left work and the two of them came to the Hoosier Lottery office in Indianapolis to claim their prize. On the way, Laura’s husband realized they may have won $100,000 because of Power Play®.  

When the Prize Payment associate confirmed they had won $100,000, Laura’s jaw dropped. 

Laura and her husband have a full house with their adult children and grandchildren living with them. The prize money will go toward paying off bills and buying groceries.
