Bloomington resident Bobby Akers wanted to get his friend a particular brand of whiskey for Christmas, and after visiting several other stores, he finally found it at Kroger. On his way out of Kroger, he stopped at the Hoosier Lottery self-service machine and purchased two $50 50X the Money Scratch-offs.

“I saw the top prize and thought, ‘Boy, it sure would be nice to win that $100,000,’” Bobby recalled.  

And that’s exactly what he did.

He scratched the QR code on the ticket and scanned it on the Hoosier Lottery’s app. Upon seeing a message stating he would need to contact the Hoosier Lottery to claim his prize, Bobby knew he’d won big.

As he scratched the rest of the ticket, he saw a $25,000 symbol, and then another. “Wow!” he exclaimed.

With the excitement building, he finished scratching the ticket and saw there were four $25,000 symbols, meaning he had indeed won the $100,000 top prize!

Bobby plans to use some of his winnings to take his wife on a cruise and will put the rest in savings.
