Pendleton man wins $100,000 Powerball® prize

Each morning, a group of friends meet for breakfast at a small diner in Pendleton. They jokingly refer to themselves as the “Breakfast Club.” And within the Breakfast Club, there is a “Lottery Club.” The Lottery Club consists of five members who pool their money together to purchase Powerball^® tickets. Chet Babb purchases the Club’s tickets and a ticket for himself for each drawing. He then brings the tickets to Breakfast Club and together they check the numbers.

The last week in February, Chet checked his numbers. That’s when he realized that his personal ticket had won $100,000! The Breakfast Club members were excited and congratulated Chet on the big win.

Chet retired from General Motors after 41 years of service. He now serves as president of the Pendleton Town Council, a role that keeps him very busy. He plans to save and invest his winnings.
