Jeffersonville resident Jimmy Turner was on his way to pick up dinner when he realized he needed gas. He stopped at a Circle K to fill up and then went inside to pay for his gas. Standing in line at the counter, Jimmy glanced over at the display of Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs and noticed the brightly colored $5 High Roller. He’s not a regular Lottery player, but Jimmy occasionally buys Scratch-offs if one catches his eye. That evening, Jimmy bought four $5 High Rollers.
After dinner, Jimmy and his wife scratched the tickets. As he was scratching one, Jimmy told his wife, “I think this one might be a winner.”
His wife looked at the partially scratched ticket and thought he won $1,000. “We were both pretty happy about that,” said Jimmy.
He scratched the rest of the ticket, and the couple was shocked to see that, instead of $1,000, he won the game’s top prize of $100,000!
Jimmy plans to use his winnings to pay off his car and will put the rest toward retirement.
