TRUCK DRIVER HAULS IN $50,000 POWERBALL PRIZE

A truck driver smiled widely in the Hoosier Lottery office after winning $50,000 on Powerball.

“I’ve just been excited,” said Calvin West, of Louisville, Kentucky.

Calvin, a longtime Hoosier Lottery player, bought his winning ticket at Osgood Food Mart in Osgood. He was in Indiana delivering tires.

After the drawing, Calvin stopped into a Hoosier Lottery retailer to check his numbers. He immediately called his wife.

“I called her up and said, ‘Baby, we’ve won some money!’” he said.

Calvin plans to use the money on medical expenses and set some aside for a small trip.
