Every day on his way to work at his appliance store, Thomas Mathis buys Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs to bring to work and share with his co-worker, who also happens to be his son. They scratch a few tickets in the morning and save the rest for the afternoon for some workday fun.

Like any other day, Thomas picked up a few Scratch-offs, including $5 JURASSIC PARK, which has been his favorite game lately.

“I like how well it scratches, and the numbers are easy to read,” Thomas stated simply about why he prefers the game.

Shortly into their morning routine, Thomas scratched his ticket and saw that he won the $75,000 top prize! Thomas and his son started shouting and cheering in excitement. Thomas then left work and drove straight to Indianapolis from Fort Wayne to claim his prize at the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment office.

When asked how many people knew about his win, Thomas said, “Probably everyone! I told my wife, and I’m sure she’s told everyone we know.”

Thomas plans to give a portion of his prize money to his church. He then plans to share some with his son and son-in-law. Thomas and his wife are looking forward to a river cruise through Germany, so any leftover prize money will help cover the cost of their trip.
