Winner Stories
LouAnn Bultemeyer and her husband are both U.S. military veterans and are very involved in their local American Legion post. LouAnn was helping run bingo on a Friday night at the Legion when someone mentioned that a winning $50,000 Powerball® ticket had been sold at the nearby Kroger earlier that week.
“Hey, I bought a Powerball ticket at Kroger this week!” said LouAnn. Her friends encouraged her to immediately leave bingo to go to Kroger and see if she had the winning ticket.
LouAnn took their advice and headed to Kroger. After handing her ticket to the clerk, LouAnn received a printout that said her prize was too large to cash at a Hoosier Lottery retailer. Excited, but still unsure if she had the $50,000 winning ticket, LouAnn went back to the American Legion to figure out how much she had won. After a little research, LouAnn and her friends cheered when they realized she did in fact have the $50,000 winning ticket!
LouAnn and her husband shared the news of the win with their adult children on Mother’s Day. Their children were extremely excited for them.
LouAnn and her husband plan to take an Alaskan cruise with the prize money and look forward to having extra spending money on the trip.
