Cheryl Hannah works in a nursing home in Michigan City. When she’s not at work, she’s normally running errands with her mom. Cheryl and her family like to play the Hoosier Lottery. 

One day, Cheryl purchased a $5 Neon 9s Crossword Scratch-off because she liked the $5 price. She scratched the ticket at home, and when she saw that she had won the $100,000 top prize, she rushed back to Max’s Grab and Go to be sure. A Hoosier Lottery sales representative happened to be there at the time and helped Cheryl check her ticket and confirmed she won $100,000. 

“I didn’t know what to think,” Cheryl recalls about the moment she realized she’d won the top prize. 

Cheryl’s nephew drove her and several family members to Indianapolis to claim her prize. It was a family celebration!

Cheryl plans to buy a new clothes washer with the prize money and treat her family to a large BBQ lunch at City Barbeque in Indianapolis before heading back home.
