On Anthony DeFrancis’s bucket list is diving with sharks. And after winning $50,000 playing Powerball®, Anthony will use the prize money to fulfill his dream by traveling to Florida to dive with sharks. 

“I’ve been obsessed with sharks since I was a kid, but growing up in the Midwest, I didn’t really have access to them,” Anthony said about his passion for the fierce predator. “I can’t wait to see them up-close, in person.”

Anthony found out he won $50,000 by first handing the clerk at his local Hoosier Lottery retailer his ticket to scan. The clerk told him he would have to visit the Hoosier Lottery because the prize was too large to cash at retail. Anthony then went to the Hoosier Lottery office in Mishawaka, where he found out he won $50,000! 

Anthony called his daughter and his two sisters to share the news. They were in disbelief that he’d won but were excited to hear about his upcoming thrilling adventure with sharks.
