The Hoosier Lottery takes its commitment to green initiatives seriously.
Since early 2011, the Hoosier Lottery headquarters has called The Buick Building home. The building is certified Gold by the U.S. Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Building Rating System. The building was designed and constructed to reduce human impact on the environment.
In addition to encouraging recycling, we continued promoting green initiatives internally and externally. Recycling boxes placed at each employee's work station promote individual recycling. We celebrated Earth Day by distributing ceramic grow guys that had a seed ball inside. Employees across the state watched the hair of the grow guys get longer. They served to remind employees of the importance of our daily environmental impact. We also completed a Green House Gas inventory and continued to monitor our overall impact as a business.
myPlayslip Digital Playslip
The Hoosier Lottery launched the myPlayslip digital playslip in November 2015. This enables players to create a playslip on their smartphone. This not only allows players to save their wagers for future use, but it also reduces reliance on paper playslips, thus reducing waste. Approximately 218 wagers per day are being created from myPlayslip.
In FY 2018, 122,398 wagers were made using myPlayslip.
We continued to promote myPlayslip seeing an increase in usage over the prior fiscal year of 54%. While it may account for a small number of overall wagers, we are pleased to see decreasing reliance on paper playslips.
