New York native Joseph Anikewich and his family recently moved to Zionsville on the suggestion of a friend who had already made the move to Indiana. On Black Friday, Joseph went to Meijer to buy his middle son the bike he had promised to get him for his birthday. While there, he bought a $10 White Ice Scratch-off. As he sat in his vehicle scratching it, Joseph saw the diamond symbol and knew the ticket was an instant winner.
“I saw 250 and was happy that I won $250,” said Joseph. “Then I saw the comma and realized it was two hundred and fifty THOUSAND. I was just shocked.”
He took the ticket back into the store and asked the clerk to scan it for him to make sure he really had won the game’s top prize. When the clerk confirmed that the ticket was a winner, Joseph was ecstatic.
Joseph plans to use his winnings for a down payment on a house and to help others through his church.
