Ricardo Angeles Castro buys Powerball tickets every week at the same store, Super Test #5 in Lafayette. He refuses to buy them elsewhere, even though he now lives 45 minutes away.
Why does he play?
“Just in case I win something one day,” he said.
His “just in case” worked out recently, as he won $1 million on a Powerball ticket.
“I was excited,” Ricardo said.
He matched 5 numbers but not the Powerball in the Oct. 20, 2018 drawing to win $1 million. He claimed the prize within a week of winning.
Ricardo wasn’t immediately sure what he would do with the prize money.
