Shortly after he left for work, Patrick McBroom drove to Thornton’s #450 on US Highway 41 to get his morning coffee and decided to buy his favorite Scratch-off, the $10 Mega 7s. “I play this Scratch-off every day,” he said. “The ticket reminds me of my favorite football team, the Green Bay Packers.” Right before he went into work, Patrick decided to scratch the ticket.

“I can’t believe it,” Patrick thought to himself, realizing he just unveiled the $277,000 Top Prize on his favorite ticket! He continued to whisper, “I just won the top prize!” 

“I walked right up to my boss and asked him how much he thought the taxes would be on my win,” Patrick recalled. His boss responded by saying, “You didn’t win did you? Let me see that ticket.” Patrick handed him the ticket and the two started to celebrate loudly.

Patrick proceeded to call both of his children and his mother to tell them the good news. 

Patrick is excited to use the money to help support his entire family and take care of his mother and nine grandchildren.
