Don is a retired teacher, but is still actively involved in the Indiana school system. He enjoys knowing that every Hoosier Lottery ticket sold contributes to his retired teacher friend’s pensions, and his own.
Q: What do you love most about living in Indiana?
A: “Many things – the change of seasons, the beauty of nature, and the agriculture. I grew up in an agricultural family, so a love for Indiana land is in my blood.”
Q: How long were you a public servant in Indiana?
A: “I was a teacher for 15 years and a principal for 21 years.”
Q: Are you still actively involved with the Indiana school system?
A: “Yes, I’m on the board of directors for the Indiana Retired Teachers’ Association, so I enjoy the chance to serve retired teachers across the state. Part of my job is also to monitor the teachers’ pension funds every year.”
Q: Did you know the Hoosier Lottery contributes to the Teachers’ Retirement Fund?
A: “Oh yes, and it means a great deal. I like knowing that retired, active and future teachers will have their retirement to look forward to.”
