A Valparaiso man was excited to find out he had won a $200,000 top prize on the $5 $200,000 Jackpot Scratch-off.
David Martin scratched the ticking thinking he might have won, but he knew for sure when he used his phone and scanned the ticket with the Hoosier Lottery App. Once he scanned the ticket, there was no question. David had in fact won $200,000.
David called his wife, Natalie, who also joined him to claim their prize. “He kept repeating the same thing over and over again,” said Natalie. “I kept saying babe, babe, babe, because I couldn’t get the words out,” added David.
David and Natalie plan to eliminate debt with their winnings. They want to pay off their car and put additional money towards their mortgage. “Not having a monthly payment is like winning the lottery every month,” said David.
