myLOTTERY members entered a multi-state drawing for a chance to win a VIP trip to the NASCAR Cup Series Championship Weekend™ at Phoenix Raceway and a chance to win $1 million. The "NASCAR Powerball® Playoff" promotion is a partnership between Powerball® and NASCAR in which semi-finalists were drawn from a pool of entrants from 24 participating lotteries. The semi-finalists are now going head-to-head in a series of drawings that coincide with the elimination rounds of the NASCAR Playoffs.

Donald Pope of Michigan City is a long-time NASCAR fan and enjoyed following the career of Jeff Gordon. When Donald received a notification that he was one of the 16 semi-finalists, he was thrilled. He is especially excited about the possibility of winning a trip for two to Championship Weekend because he and his wife will be celebrating their 39th wedding anniversary and the trip would make the perfect anniversary gift. Donald and his wife have been talking about what they would do if he won the $1 million. They aren't sure yet, but after years of shift work in a steel mill, Donald says they would probably put the prize money in savings so that he could find a job that is strictly day shift.

Donald has advanced to the next round of eight semi-finalists and will vie for a spot in the final four. The final four, who will all win a trip to Championship weekend in Phoenix, will be announced during the Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway on Oct. 29.
