A $200,000 Powerball® with Power Play® prize was claimed at the Hoosier Lottery’s Indianapolis headquarters this week.
Two Powerball tickets with Power Play and Double Play® is how Elizabeth Fuquay of Camby plays the Hoosier Lottery each week.
“I know how much I’m spending, and I don’t go over,” she said.
The morning after a drawing, Fuquay was getting ready to drive to Kentucky to visit family when she spotted her tickets on the table and scanned them before leaving. She was shocked when she saw that her prize amount was too large to cash at a retailer.
“I thought someone in the family had died the way she was staring at her phone,” her husband said.
The couple didn’t know how much Fuquay had won, so Fuquay called her sister in Kentucky to tell her that they’d be late and why. Her sister did a quick Internet search and told her she had won $200,000!
Fuquay and her husband are elated about their win. They each got out their wish lists and plan to do some shopping with the prize money. Fuquay wants to buy a pair of Jordans and a designer purse, while her husband will outfit his Jeep Gladiator with a few accessories. They also plan to take a family vacation with their son and will invest the rest of the prize money.
The $200,000 winning ticket was purchased at Food Mart located at 895 State Road 39 North in Martinsville.
The winning Powerball numbers for Saturday, Feb. 28, are: 6-20-35-54-65 with the Powerball of 10 and a Power Play of 4X. Players can check their tickets with the free Hoosier Lottery Mobile App.
