Chicago residents Sandra Robbins and her husband like to play daily Draw games and regularly play the Illinois Lottery’s Pick 4 game. Sandra frequently travels to Indiana to visit family members who live in Lafayette, and on these trips, she plays the Hoosier Lottery’s Daily 4 Draw game.

Sandra always plays the same numbers, regardless of whether she’s in Illinois or Indiana.

The morning after one of her trips to Indiana, Sandra’s husband was up early and checked her numbers on the Hoosier Lottery’s website. He was excited to see that Sandra had matched all four numbers and, thinking she had made her customary wager of $1, won $5,000.

Wanting to share his excitement, Sandra’s husband hurried into their bedroom and woke her up saying, “Hey, Miss Moneybags, I think you won a few more dollars.” The night before this trip to Lafayette, Sandra won $1,000 playing Illinois’ Pick 4 and her husband jokingly began calling her “Miss Moneybags.”

Once Sandra was awake and saw her numbers on the Hoosier Lottery’s website, she told her husband, “Looks like Miss Moneybags is $25,000 richer!”

“No, you’re not,” her husband exclaimed in disbelief. “Yes, I am,” replied Sandra. “I wagered $5 instead of $1!”

Sandra plans to put her winnings in savings.
