Late one night, David Higgins of Middlebury opened his computer to check his CA$H 5 numbers and was stunned to see he matched all five numbers and won that drawing’s jackpot of $241,864.

David couldn’t wait to share his good news with his wife and immediately woke her up. However, because it was so late at night, his wife’s first reaction was fear that something bad had happened. Once David repeated that he had just won the CA$H 5 jackpot, her fear turned to joy and the couple celebrated. Too excited to sleep, David stayed up all night. “The lack of sleep was totally worth it, though,” he said.

David does electrician maintenance, and when he’s not working, he enjoys fishing and playing Hoosier Lottery Draw games. He typically purchases tickets when he stops to get gas each week.

He plans to invest his prize money and possibly buy a new house.
