Mary Bever lives in the small town of Owensburg, about 30 miles southwest of Bloomington. Now that she is retired, she spends her time pursuing her hobbies, which include playing Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs.

After an appointment in Bedford one day, Mary stopped at her favorite retailer and bought a couple of $20 Power 20s Scratch-offs. When she got home, she scratched them and was shocked when one ticket showed she won the top prize of $20,000.

Mary was so excited that she immediately called her daughter, who was on vacation in Georgia. When Mary shared her good news, her daughter was thrilled and told her mom, “Put that ticket in your safe!” Mary did just that until her daughter returned home and could drive Mary to the Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment office in Indianapolis to claim her winnings.

Mary plans to use her winnings to pay off her recently purchased car.
