Man from Milford, a town of 1,500 people, wins $50,000 Powerball^® prize

Mark Lewinski from Kosciusko County won $50,000 during the rising Powerball® jackpot run in early January. Mark purchases tickets for all three Powerball drawings each week, and picks the same numbers each week. 

"Every morning I wake up I read for a little bit and then watch the news. I had seen on the news that the Powerball jackpot was hit, so I thought to myself, 'Well, I might as well get my tickets checked to see if I won a little bit of cash.'" Mark noticed that he matched four numbers and the Powerball. He instantly started to get excited--he could not believe that many numbers had matched. He drove to the Mishawaka Hoosier Lottery Prize Payment Office to have them verify he had won. That is when he realized he won $50,000! Immediately--working through his state of shock--he called his brother. They always joke with one another, so it took a lot of convincing. His brother said, "This is not a funny joke. Cut it out!" After reality set in his brother still had a hard time processing the news, though was able to share how happy he was for his brother.  

Mark works with mergers and acquisitions for a living. The only major plans he has for his prize money is to pay off his truck. He is very excited to finally not have a car payment every month.
