Michael Jefferson is retired from a career at the Fort Wayne VA Medical Center where he spent decades serving other disabled veterans like himself. For fun, he likes to play the Hoosier Lottery’s Daily 4.

Michael recently got married. On Christmas Day he was at home watching football when his wife called from a holiday party she was attending. When she asked, “Can I ride with you?” Michael was confused.

He asked her what she was talking about, and she said, “Your Daily 4 numbers hit. Can I ride with you to claim your money?”

“Don’t joke like that!” Michael said, convinced she had to be kidding him. She told him to check for himself, so he grabbed his tickets and was thrilled to see his numbers really had hit and he won $10,000!

Michael plans to put his winnings in savings.
