What started as a routine day for Michele Faith of New Albany turned into one she’ll never forget.

Michele, who works at a local bar and restaurant, picked up a $50 50X the Money Scratch-off without expecting much. She enjoys playing Hoosier Lottery Scratch-offs, and the most she had ever won was around $500. However, this Scratch-off, unbeknownst to Michele, was much more than that.

She had begun scratching her ticket and revealed a matching number. When she started to scratch the prize next to it, she knew right away it was more than she had ever won before. As she scratched away the prize amount, she kept seeing zeros and couldn’t believe what she saw on her ticket. She checked the ticket several times to be sure the amount was right—she won the $100,000 top prize! 

Shocked and excited, Michele immediately called her son to share in the excitement. They soon made the drive from New Albany to Indianapolis to claim the prize. The trip came with more emotions as they encountered traffic and watched some close calls from other drivers due to the bad weather. With the winning ticket safely tucked away, Michele and her son were relieved when they finally arrived. After officially claiming the $100,000 win, Michele said she plans to put the money into savings and drive home slowly and safely.
