Since opening its doors 48 years ago, the 7-Eleven on McKinley Avenue in Mishawaka has been a neighborhood staple, proudly owned by Frank Ronchetti. For the past 35 years, the store has also been a trusted destination for Hoosier Lottery players, offering a wide variety of Scratch-offs and Draw games. Over time, the store has seen steady growth in both lottery sales and its customer base. Frank attributes much of this success to having the Hoosier Lottery as part of the store's offerings, noting that it has helped increase foot traffic and overall sales.
"Lottery draws a lot of people into the store to shop that have not been in before. Now they are daily customers!" -- Frank Ronchetti
Co-owner Mindy Casper, Frank's daughter, has been part of the family business since the beginning of its lottery story. From launching with just six games to now offering 34 different Scratch-offs, she's seen firsthand how the excitement of lottery play brings people together.
One of the store's most memorable moments was selling a winning ticket worth $100,000 to a regular customer. The buzz from that win brought in new faces and added to the store's reputation.
"We love the excitement that the lottery brings, especially with some big wins." -- Mindy Casper
Known for its friendly atmosphere and excellent customer service, the store continues to thrive thanks to its loyal customers and commitment to creating a welcoming experience. Whether it's through 7-Eleven Day celebrations, Hoosier Lottery promotions, customer appreciation events, or simply greeting guests with a smile, this Mishawaka location remains a beloved part of the community.
