Everything is coming up roses for Madison couple
Maybe it was karma. Maybe sometimes things just have a way or working out. Maybe it was a bonus for being the kind of husband who doesn’t wait until Valentine’s Day to give his wife roses. Maybe it was dumb luck.
Terry Morris of Madison doesn’t really care how you qualify it, or what you call it. He just knows he went to the store on a recent Friday evening to buy his wife flowers and he ended up with more than he ever expected. In addition to flowers, the loving husband purchased a $50,000 winning Hoosier Lottery ticket.
“I went to buy Dawn roses because she had kind of a, well, a bad week,” said Morris. “I stopped at the gas station and got a Lottery ticket first.”
Morris scratched the $3 Yahtzee™ game in the parking lot of Murphy USA at 553 Ivy Tech Drive in Madison, discovered his win, and continued on his mission to get the flowers before returning home with roses and the winning Scratch-off.
“It turned out to be a pretty good day. A fantastic day!” said Dawn Morris.
“We’re gonna pay bills,” said Terry Morris. “It’ll be a sigh of relief. It really is an easy feeling knocking them out. The monkey’s off our back.” Click here to see Dawn and Terry talk about their amazing win.
